- Vermont Smoke & Cure Pepperoni, sliced thin
- 2 slices whole grain bread
- 2 tbsp. butter, softened
- shredded mozzarella
- fresh basil
- Butter one side of each slice of bread. On the non buttered side, layer in sequence mozzarella, pepperoni, basil, mozzarella.
- Grill buttered side down on a skillet heated over medium heat for until golden brown and cheese is melted.
Pro Tip: You can add a little grated parmesan or asiago to the pan before the final turn on the grilled cheese to get a nice crust, just be careful not to burn!
